Elmhurst police said they assisted law enforcement agencies with conducting an arrest warrant operation at a home near the intersection.
Finally just before 8 p.m., CBS News Chicago witnessed the man being tackled by law enforcement and removed from the courthouse lobby on a stretcher.
The standoff ended, and no one is in custody, police confirmed.
The County's SWAT and Hostage Negotiation Team were called after deputies said an armed man barricaded himself inside a house.
Police said a 23-year-old man refused to leave the premises. That's when a security guard, a 57-year-old man, attempted to escort him out, leading to a fight between the two.
Officers saw and attempted to approach the teen, who then ran into a residence, where officers initiated a SWAT incident.
Chicago police said around 2:13 a.m., a 29-year-old man self-transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center after being shot in the 10500 block of South Cottage Grove in the Roseland neighborhood.
Police said officers responded to reports of two people barricaded inside an apartment, but no suspects were found, and no one was in custody.
The situation happened around 3 a.m. in the 5900 block of South Washtenaw Avenue.
