The incident, involving two special agents, happened on Whiteman Street just after 1:30 p.m.
What started as an investigation turned into a shooting on Tuesday afternoon in Bergen County. The DEA agents were trying to arrest someone as part of an ongoing drug investigation. CBS2's Tim McNicholas reports.
Last year, there was a 214% increase in meth seized and a 59% increase in fentanyl seized, compared to the year before.
The DEA is saying very little about what went down or why the man was wanted.
According to the DEA, dangerous counterfeit pills containing fentanyl are being manufactured by Mexican drug cartels for distribution throughout North America.
The DEA made the change in the wake of increase vaping-related illnesses and deaths nationwide.
It's estimated the cocaine has a street value of $77 million.
