The men have been charged in a string of four armed robberies Monday morning on the North and Northwest sides, and police believe the crew is responsible for dozens of other similar robberies. CBS 2's Tara Molina reports.
We have been investigating this growing pattern for weeks - and in reality, we believe there have actually been more than 100 violent robberies in the past month in the city. CBS 2's Tara Molina reports.
The robberies have been happening on the city's North, Northwest, and West sides. We have been tracking the crime trend closely for weeks.
Police say the suspect barged his way into a door where he was met by another man and a fight ensued.
Police say the suspects would break the front glass door of businesses and gain access to registers.
Police said when the victim exited the car to assess the damage, the suspect forced her way into the driver's seat of the car and fled the scene.
A man is charged with ten felonies after robbing two people and carjacking a man in Lakeview and Albany Park in 2020.
The suspect fired a shot - striking the victim in the chest, police said.
CPD Supt. David Brown said officers tried to arrest the suspect before he took off.
Police said the man, 38, was on the sidewalk when an unknown suspect produced a weapon and shot the victim multiple times.
