A July 4th gathering in West Englewood ended with a barrage of bullets and one person dead overnight. Five others were injured. Evidence markers littered the street near 56th and Ada after the pre-dawn shooting. In all, police tell CBS 2's Suzanne Le Mignot that at least 200 shots were fired.
Several shootings overnight left two people dead and multiple others wounded.
A witness told police the victims were shot at by an unknown man traveling in a red SUV.
One of the victims ran into a nearby firehouse to ask for help and then was taken to a hospital.
His supporters claim staff members made false statements during a CPS investigation.
No one was in custody late Tuesday.
