Illinois State Police said the SUV driver was taken to the hospital with injuries after the crash involving the school bus on the Eisenhower Expressway Friday morning.
Children were on board the bus at the time of the crash, but no injuries or transports were reported.
A Chicago man has been charged in a road rage shooting on the Eisenhower Expressway in DuPage County on the day before Thanksgiving last year.
The crash happened just before midnight on eastbound I-290 at Racine Avenue.
Illinois State Police said a pedestrian was struck and killed on the Tri-State Tollway overnight.
A number of vehicles were damaged in the crash.
The police say that the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
It is unclear what caused the pedestrian to be hit by the vehicle and how long the outbound lanes will be closed.
Initial reports said the vehicle traveled onto the shoulder and struck a curb, causing the vehicle to roll over.
