Around 3:17 a.m., Buffalo Grove Police responded to the Extended Stay America at 1525 Busch Parkways for the report of an armed robbery.
Witnesses said the suspect approached the front desk, jumped over the counter, and demanded money while displaying a handgun.
Police said the boy has been charged with four counts of aggravated battery, four counts of robbery, two counts of attempted robbery, one count of armed robbery, and one count of aggravated robbery.
Rashod Louis and Hamata Hampton, both 18 and from Chicago, were charged with four felony counts of armed robbery.
The incidents date back to October, with the latest happening on Monday during the evening and early morning hours.
In three of these incidents, the victims observed the offender following them before the robbery occurred.
Des Plaines police said just before 3 a.m., two men in a white Nissan Altima were traveling through the parking lot when they got out wearing ski masks and approached the first victim, a 32-year-old man from Itasca.
At least five robberies were reported between Oct. 20 and 31 during the morning and afternoon hours.
Three suspects approached the two victims on the sidewalk and demanded their property, the university said.
