Officials say two cats died and a third one was injured in the blaze.
Everyone inside the home made it out OK.
No arrests have been made.
It happened just after 2:30 p.m. at 28th and West Oxford Streets.
Police say Timothy Robinson was driving under the influence when he struck Johnson and his mother on Monday.
William Ernest Johnson III is accused of stealing home deeds.
Officials say the fire started in the rear of the home. Neighbors say it has since spread to three other homes.
