Just a day after murder charges against her and her son were dropped, and they walked free from jail, Carlishia Hood is speaking out about their controversial arrest, and the viral video that led to their release. She's now suing the city and the officers who arrested her in a fatal shooting in West Pullman.
The incident was captured on video as Sgt. Michael Vitellaro, who was off-duty at the time, accused the teen of stealing his son's bike, and pinned the boy down with his knee.
The Civilian Office of Police Accountability said it can't determine who fired first, based on its review of the video.
Tuesday, the teen's family will announce a lawsuit against both Vitellaro and the City of Chicago.
