Police said the woman was inside a home when someone fired a gunshot from outside.
It happened around 11:15 p.m. in the 8600 block of South Vincennes Avenue.
Chicago police say around 9:30 p.m., the woman was sitting on a porch in the 11800 block of South Indiana Avenue with another man when an unknown man in a dark-colored SUV drove by and started shooting.
The man on the porch with the woman, who had a concealed carry license, fired back, and the SUV driver left the scene.
Chicago police say officers responded to the scene and found the front of the store had been damaged.
