Christopher Lopez, 23, of Cary was charged in the crash that killed Glenview police Officer Robert Fryc, 43, in Barrington early Sunday morning.
Two heavily-damaged cars were sitting in the middle of the roadway, while a third vehicle — a Jeep — sustained minor damage.

The vehicle could not maneuver a turn and crashed into a utility pole, police said.
