The attack happened at 10:52 p.m. Friday, July 1, in the 2200 block of South Wentworth Avenue. Chicago Police officers responded to shots fired, and found a 24-year-old woman who had been shot in the torso.
Police say the victim and driver of the vehicle engaged in an argument about the incident when a passenger got out and fired shots.
The gunman got back in the car and the driver then sped off south on Wentworth Avenue, police said.
A couple business owners said the most recent shootings are unsettling, and residents are hoping to see a change in their community.
Officers responded to shots fired where they found one of the victims shot and killed.
