Reginal Petty, 43, was arrested Thursday by Chicago police officers and members of the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force.
A witness told the officers that the victims were shot at by someone traveling in a vehicle.
The city's police oversight agency recommended officer Nicholas Jovanovich be fired for using excessive force against Miracle Boyd, but he resigned before facing any possible disciplinary action.
The teen was arrested on Wednesday in the 11300 block of South Normal Avenue and charged with three felony counts of aggravated robbery with an indication of a firearm.
There was no bomb or person with a gun at the school. Police said there were reports of a similar incident at a second school Wednesday.
The ages of the victims range from 24 to 48, according to police.
The burglaries occurred in the 6600 block of West Diversey Avenue between Jan. 18 and Feb. 27 during the morning and afternoon hours.
Chicago police responded to a person shot and found the victim, a 39-year-old man, in the hallway with one gunshot wound to the head.
Police said in each incident, the victims were approached after leaving a tavern and waiting for a rideshare by three to four men who displayed a handgun or used physical force before demanding the victim's property and leaving the scene.

The boys, both 15, were charged with felony counts of armed robbery with a firearm and criminal trespass of a vehicle. One of them received an additional charge of unlawful possession of a handgun.
The ages of the victims range from 16 to 61.
