In addition to the ceremony, a Hawaiian holiday-themed tent featuring dozens of local vendors will be set up for the Millennium Park Holiday Market, which is available this weekend only, along with ice skating.
Labor Day would not be complete without the annual Chicago Jazz Festival taking over Millennium Park.
This year's headliners include jazz master Amina Claudine Myers, Kenny Garrett, and the Spanish Harlem Orchestra. Weekend performances at Millennium Park are free and open to the public.
