Police said, around 7:20 a.m., a 54-year-old man was riding a Red Line train, when another passenger tried to rob him, and hit him with a baseball bat.
They're teaming up with Miller Lite to offer free rides on Dec. 31.
The teen was arrested Saturday by the Bureau of Counter Terrorism Mass Transit Unit, in the 3600 block of West Fillmore Street.
The shooting happened around 10:43 p.m. at the Garfield station in the 200 block of West Garfield Boulevard.
Andrew Holmes said he made a point of ensuring that suspect Devonte Jones was taken into custody.
Devonte Jones is accused of attacking CTA passengers and an employee – and actions have even been caught on CTA surveillance cameras. CBS 2's Suzanne Le Mignot talked with crisis responder Andrew Holmes, who said he led police to Jones.
Those investigators are expected to conduct testing throughout the week.
The men, 20 and 25, were on a stationary train causing a disturbance when a male offender fired shots, police said.
