Rated "high hazard" by the state, the dam had been overwhelmed by the torrential rain and failed to hold back the flooding that claimed two lives in October 2023.
Police said just before 9 p.m., they received reports about a 7-year-old missing from the restaurant.
According to a spokesperson with Frisco FD, the 7-year-old was reported missing from an Uncle Julio's restaurant at 2401 Preston Road.
On Sunday, 18-year-old Ava Moore was kayaking at Grapevine Lake when she was struck and killed by a jet ski, police said.
AG Ken Paxton said two undocumented immigrants have been arrested in connection with the deadly jet ski crash.
The cause of death has not been determined.
A family member said they are "completely devastated" by the teen's death, adding that their family "will never be the same."
Drowning is the leading cause of death for children ages one to four, according to the CDC.
The Lewisville Fire Department dive team located the body at approximately 4:15 p.m.
The Grand Prairie Public Safety Dive Team was called to the lake after witnesses reported seeing two men fall off a boat and never resurface.
A caller reported the incident just off Baja Bear near the dam at the north end of the lake, Texas Game Wardens said.
Officers responded to the 4100 block of Surfside Ct at about 12:10 p.m. after a resident reported seeing someone floating in the water.
The girl's father, Will Robinson, a well-respected high school coach from Durant, Oklahoma, did not survive.
"My family is going through it now."
The incident occurred around 7 p.m. Sunday in the 3700 block of Pockrus Page Road, near Interstate 35E on the city's south side.
"None of the victims were wearing a life jacket, that's the most important thing," said Lt. Jason Jones, a Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden.

A 14-year-old from Duncanville drowned in Lewisville Lake Saturday afternoon, authorities confirmed.
The Lewisville Fire Department dive team recovered the body around 8 p.m. Monday, according to Texas Parks & Wildlife.
The incident is part of a concerning number of drownings in North Texas this summer.
"I hope that anyone would have done what I did," said Jacob Bell.
Police say the girl was part of a large church group from Garland.
The child was taken to Cook Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room.
