According to police, the individual fired one shot at a group of people who were standing outside then ran off.
Officers were sent to Commonwealth Avenue between Randall and Lacombe avenues just before 4 a.m. Sunday.
The second suspect, who is 15 years old, is already in custody for a separate shooting.
The victim was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
It happened on July 28 just before 10 p.m. on East Tremont Avenue near St. Raymond Avenue.
