According to the NYPD, a 21-year-old man with a gun tried robbing a 40-year-old man.
Neighbors said the scene near Crescent Avenue was so bloody, firefighters were called to spray down the sidewalk Saturday morning.
Investigators said it appears the victims were not the intended targets.
The shooting happened adjacent to a wooded area of Bauer Avenue. Prior to the incident, neighbors said they noticed the man in his car.
Police say an 8-year-old boy was shot in the torso and was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.
