Subway riders, some relief is on the way. At least according to New York City Transit Authority President Andy Byford, who sat down with 60 Minutes' Bill Whitaker on Sunday night.
A representative for the MTA board suggests the growing number of delays and service changes due to "track and signal work" are causing commuters to get discouraged with taking public transportation.
Of the 3,500 bus shelters across the five boroughs, 1,400 are closed for safety inspections after corroded bolts caused one stop to partially collapse.
JCDecaux says of the first one thousand bus stops inspected, 30 of them had corrosion.
