A pregnant mother had sought an order of protection before she and her 11-year-old son were attacked in their Edgewater neighborhood home on Wednesday. The stabbing attack resulted in the boy's death.
The car was recovered shortly after near the 3300 block of West Devon Avenue, police said.
The robberies happened between Jan. 19 and Feb. 8 in the Bowmanville, Rogers Park, West Ridge, Irving Park, and Edgewater neighborhoods
Police believe he hit four businesses - two in December and two in February.

Three of the victims were transported to Ascension St. Francis Hospital in Evanston and were listed in critical condition. A fourth person was transported to Swedish Covenant Hospital in serious condition.
