Police said the robbery happened early Saturday, Aug. 30, in the 900 block of West Lake Street in the Fulton Market District. The Morgan Street Green and Pink Line stop is located at that address.
The victim was shot in the chest at Halsted and Lake streets and was taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said a 38-year-old man was outside near Halsted and Lake streets around 2:50 a.m., and got into a quarrel with two men. One of the men shot him.

The victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
A male and three kids were also injured in the crash in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.
No citations were issued in the crash. The police Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating.
