The crash happened in northbound the express lanes near 47th Street around 2 a.m.
"It's an active area. It's sometimes not positively an active area," said Street Pastor Donovan Price. "As a result, there are things often - quite often."
The Dan Ryan was shut down at the scene, but traffic was still getting by on the right shoulder.
CBS 2's Jermont Terry spoke Thursday to the mother of the two brothers. She has double the worry.
CPD tells us that a red car was speeding and crashed into a semi-truck.
