A man was arrested after allegedly firing shots on a Blue Line train platform early Monday morning. Chicago police said just after 1 a.m., a passenger pulled out a gun during an argument with the employee and fired multiple shots at the Blue Line Station on Division.
Bob and Kitty Tataryn were brutally beaten near the Irving Park Blue Line station in 2022. Their attacker has now been sentenced to 28 years, and they absolutely are not giving up on Chicago. CBS 2's Jermont Terry reports.
Benjamin Rivers, 34, of Bellwood was arrested on Thursday just before 5 p.m. in the 400 block of South Damen Avenue.
He told the victim he had a knife and took her phone, cash, and other belongings.
On Dec. 30, a man wielding a machete approached two people at the Kedzie-Homan stop on the Blue Line, and demanded their belongings, police said.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact CPD mass transit detectives at (312) 745-4447.
The teen was charged with two felony counts of armed robbery with a dangerous weapon and one felony count of aggravated robbery with indication of a firearm.
Sources said the teen attends nearby Phoenix STEM Military Academy which is just blocks from the Blue Line stop.
