"A lot of these kids from this neighborhood have never gone to camp before," notes Kareem Bryant, director of neighborhood based programs for Legacy.
Several dozen people came to make a point that the federal ruling does affect New Jersey.
"The law of the State of New Jersey discriminates, and that's what's hurting the families," says Hayley Gorenberg, an attorney with Lambda Legal, a group which represents six same-sex couples in a New Jersey lawsuit.
"Anger, frustration, feeling like there is a lack of consideration for our children," Linda Lewis said.
