Gov. Walz Authorizes National Guard To Provide Public Safety Assistance In The Twin Cities
Gov. Tim Walz issued an executive order Friday authorizing the Minnesota National Guard to provide public safety assistance in St. Paul for the federal civil rights trial of three former police officers charged in George Floyd's death. The governor's office also noted that this order means that National Guard members will be prepared to offer assistance in Minneapolis in the wake of the police killing of Amir Locke.
