This holiday season, we are proud to partner with the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) for WCCO's Home for the Holidays. Our goal is to bring awareness and support to veteran homelessness in our community. Help us serve those who first served us.
Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) is a veteran-focused nonprofit organization providing services and support to end Veteran homelessness in Minnesota. Winter Salute to Veterans
As part of WCCO's Home for the Holidays, we are proud to partner with MACV and the Minnesota Twins in hosting a Winter Salute to Veterans to serve those who first served us.
During Vietnam, stand-downs provided a safe retreat for units returning from combat operations. They afforded battle-weary soldiers the opportunity to renew their spirit, health and overall sense of well-being. MACV has created its own version that brings veterans experiencing homelessness into one location to connect with services to help bring security and a sense of well-being to their lives.
This December at Target Field, 300 veterans will receive services such as haircuts, legal assistance, medical care and much more. A warm holiday meal will also be provided along with a special program.
