A convenience store employee was pepper sprayed during a robbery in Old Town just 30 minutes before a similar robber was reported in The Loop Sunday night.
At least five robberies have been reported, with the latest happening on Wednesday.
The robbery happened on Nov. 14 around 4 p.m. in the 6200 block of South Evans Avenue.
The robberies mostly happened in the Rogers Park and West Ridge areas.
In each incident, someone walked into a store, approached the victims, and demanded money
Celeste Pope, 18, was arrested on Tuesday in the 1700 block of South State Street.
The robbery happened around 9 p.m. on Oct. 22 in the 900 block of West Addison Street.
In each of four incidents, the robber claimed to have a gun and handed the store or restaurant employee a handwritten note announcing a robbery.
Police said three armed people entered the restaurant, which was closed at the time, by breaking the front glass door and taking the cash register before fleeing the scene.
Two teens were charged in connection to the violent robbery of a woman at a CTA Red Line stop in August.
Martel Mason, 25, was arrested on Wednesday in the 2600 block of South California Avenue.
Devan Flax is also accused of robbing a pizzeria employee in Berwyn around the same time last year.

Around 1 a.m., police said a man and woman were about to enter their restaurant, Los Tamales de la Tia, in the 3400 block of West 26th Street when an SUV pulled up. Five men, some with guns, got out and entered the restaurant with the victims before stealing items.
