A carjacking led to a police chase, crash and gunfire that killed both the suspect and a Kane County police K9 near the border of Geneva and Batavia. The sequence of events ended with a car crash that shut down the intersection at Fabyan Parkway and Randall Road late Wednesday afternoon.
The state justice department's Division of Criminal Investigation said it was leading the investigation of the shooting and would turn its findings over to the Racine County District Attorney for review.
