CBS 2's Mugo Odigwe reports Chicago Mayor-Elect Brandon Johnson made the announcement Wednesday morning.
Details on tickets will be available Monday.
Johnson, who has been out and about ahead of the big day, will be inaugurated on May 15 at 10:30 a.m. at the Credit Union One Arena - also known as U.I.C Pavilion.
In the Hyde Park neighborhood, Johnson made a "retail visit" to the Sip and Savor Coffee Shop at 5301 S. Hyde Park Blvd.
