Another day, another chance of snow in the forecast…but now there are only 33 days until spring and only 22 days until Daylight Saving Time starts, which means sunset will be in the 7 p.m. hour!
The warm air aloft and at the surface may limit snow totals south and east of Philadelphia, but in the north and west suburbs an additional 3-6" of snow will fall (locally higher amounts possible), pushing total snowfall amounts in some spots into the 18-22" range.
It's not over yet. Another thump of snow will rumble through this evening and tonight as the back edge of the storm moves through, and these bands will intensify as another coastal low deepens offshore.
Heavy snow will continue to fall through the overnight hours and into the early morning, piling up well over 6 inches in many areas, with even higher amounts in our far north and west suburbs where the snow could pile up over a foot.
This storm will have all the hallmarks of a true nor'easter - howling winds, heavy snow, strong waves along the coast, and unlike the storms we dealt with in January that were all snow and high-ratio snow at that, this one will have mixing issues.
By the time Monday rolls around, we may be even more tired of seeing snow than we are already, if that's at all possible!

In the wake of an ice storm that dumped up to a full HALF INCH of ice on portions of the region, many people this evening are without heat and electricity as temperatures plummet into the 20's.
