It's hard to find positives from a loss in the NFL. The Eagles are finding a way.
There were two things that cheered me up after Sunday's Eagles loss. First, the Cowboys blew it, as the Cowboys often do. Second, Chip Kelly's day-after press conference was full of Kelly sarcastic goodness.
Chip Kelly was a little short with some answers, and addressed LeSean McCoy's eight carries. He also spoke about Nick Foles' inconsistency and the porous defense in the Eagles' 48-30 loss to the Vikings on Sunday during his day-after press conference at the NovaCare Complex.
The Eagles were on top of the world. Winners of five in a row, their quarterback on the cover of Sports Illustrated, and heading into a game against an inferior opponent who was missing their best player. They were primed for a big win, and keeping a stranglehold on the NFC East lead.
If 203 victories, 2 Cy Young Awards and over 2,000 strike-outs aren't enough for entrance into the Hall of Fame, I'm not sure what is.
The loss snapped the Eagles' five-game winning streak, dropping them to 8-6 with two games left, while Minnesota improved to 4-9-1.
The Eagles face the Vikings Sunday in Minnesota with the teams and their respective head coaches seemingly headed in opposite directions.
With all of the hype that has surrounded the Eagles this week, there is the fear that the Eagles could look past this weekend's opponent. With the Cowboys and the Bears on the horizon, and possibly an NFC East title, it would be easy to take the Vikings lightly.
The Eagles Super Bowl odds are the shortest they've been all season, and deservedly so.

Chip Kelly is an offensive mastermind, but his affect on defense and fundamentals can't be overlooked.
The stories of the Sports Illustrated Jinx are many. Players that find themselves on the cover of the legendary magazine have a habit of failure in the immediate future after the issue comes out.
The Eagles are still an unproven team with a second-year quarterback and a first-year head coach leading the charge. That does not mean Nick Foles and Chip Kelly are necessarily incapable of turning the world upside down and sending a parade down Broad Street, but this is still very much an uphill battle. There is much work to be done this season.
The Eagles are alone in first place in the NFC East, but the players insist their focus is on Minnesota.
2013 was an up and down year in Philadelphia sports, to say the least. The first half was full of "downs," including coaching changes for every professional team, and losses upon losses as well. But the second half has proved to be more positive, with some of those changes looking like positive ones.
Chip Kelly spoke about the character of his team, the comeback against the Detroit Lions in eight inches of snow and what the Eagles were faced against in Sunday's memorable 34-20 victory during his day-after press conference at the NovaCare Complex.
Michael Vick was supposed to be the guy on the Eagles that was like a video game. Yesterday against the Lions, it was Chip Kelly, Nick Foles and the rest of the team that was playing like it was on an XBox.
It seemed like we all changed our opinion of the snowy Eagles game at the very same time.
LeSean McCoy rushed for an Eagles all-time record 217 yards and scored 2 TD's as the Birds beat the Detroit Lions 34-20 Sunday afternoon.

Quarterback Marcus Mariota has announced that he will return to Oregon for his junior season.
The Eagles are far from playing the level of defense adored by Buddy Ryan zealots, but this Eagles defense has held six of their last seven opponents to 20 points or fewer (Arizona scored 21). In today's NFL, those numbers will give teams more than a chance to win much more often than not. It has not happened by accident, as the Eagles defense has continued to gel together following a coaching change and a roster makeover.
Nate Allen says Chip Kelly's focus on sports science and health is keeping the team strong.
Chip Kelly spoke about how Nick Foles has taken on a "followship" role with the Eagles, how the defensive front is playing and how the Eagles need to finish better.
