It's hard to believe anything in the days leading up to the NFL Draft. But that's what makes it all so much fun.
The draft's top corner brushed off concerns about his health Wednesday, and said he'd "feel fine" replacing Darrelle Revis in New York.
We learned this week that "Game of Thrones" author George R.R. Martin wants to send John of House Idzik straight to the Wall. He's been down this road before...
Will the Jets consider a quarterback such as West Virginia's Geno Smith or Syracuse's Ryan Nassib so high in the first round? Or with an eye on the future, might they consider Mike Glennon or Florida State's EJ Manuel in the second round?
"It is hard to be a fan of the New York Jets," Martin wrote. "They have hardly done anything right since Joe Willie Namath won Super Bowl III, and every time you think maybe they are finally turning the corner, they find some new way to screw things up."
The most important Jet this season won't even take the field. The chances of success for New York this season are not great, but they rest with Marty Mornhinweg.
The Jets' biggest problem is still at the most important position on the field, so it's hard to get too high about anything they've done so far. But that also doesn't mean this draft will provide the answers.
"I definitely feel like I haven't gotten the truth," Revis said. "Anyone can sit there and tell you to your face, 'Yeah, you're going to be a Jet.' ... I know it's a lie."
"Not (head coach) Rex (Ryan), not (general manager John) Idzik, not (owner Woody) Johnson, nobody contacted me," Revis said. "They left me out of the loop, I guess you can say."
Without saying it, the Jets said it. They don't plan to contend for years. And it will take a lot more than Tampa Bay's first-round pick to fix it. And now, by the way, you also have a gaping hole at cornerback.
It'll all be on Cro -- again -- in 2013. And he's not exactly happy about it.
If the GM digs up Vernon Gholston instead of Joe Namath in the draft, he'll be pilloried, and probably unemployed before his contract expires.
The 2013 NFL Draft will take place this week, so let's take a look at which holes each team in the AFC East needs to fill to have a successful draft.
Weeks of speculation about the star cornerback's future ended Sunday when the Jets traded the three-time All-Pro to the Bucs in exchange for the 13th overall pick in this week's NFL draft and another selection next year.
The speculation can soon be put to rest. Darrelle Revis and the Jets appear on the verge of parting ways.
"I just don't know if it was the best situation for either of us, but you play with the cards you are dealt with and do the very best you can," Sanchez said.
Jets coach Rex Ryan seemed most interested in the defending Super Bowl champion Ravens not opening the season at home as the NFL released the schedule.
Tebow's private coach unleashed a conspiracy theory Wednesday regarding the quarterback's trade from Denver to New York, and managed to call Mark Sanchez "fragile-minded" in the process.
John Idzik acknowledged that he and Darrelle Revis recently had "a nice talk." Other than that, the new New York Jets' general manager divulged very little, particularly about the swirling trade rumors involving the star cornerback.
Linebacker Calvin Pace is coming back to the New York Jets on a one-year deal, according to multiple reports.
Sanchez is too busy learning the West Coast offense to be overly concerned with East Coast rumors.
The quarterback said Friday he'd show up with a "great attitude" despite reports that New York will eventually pull the plug on Tebow Time.
Speaking at his annual charity event in his hometown Friday night, Tebow offered little insight into his feelings about the Jets signing quarterback David Garrard or about the rampant speculation that his time in New York might be ending.
Rhodes told TMZ he wanted to "address the situation" after an image was posted on another gossip site that showed the vacationing NFL player with his arm around a man who he said was his former assistant.
"If there's going to be competition at the position, it's not going to come from Tim Tebow," Mark Sanchez's tutor told USA Today.
