The mayor announced NYCHA CEO Greg Russ is out just days after tenants at the Jacob Riis Houses faced fears of arsenic in their water.
The center will serve as a central place where newly arrived asylum seekers will receive legal services and resources to help them integrate and thrive in the city.
He said in part, "We remain focused on supporting each of these individuals and families who need our city's help."
Mayor Eric Adams on Wednesday released a statement on the ongoing surge of asylum seekers arriving in New York City and a recent group, which was initially denied shelter beds earlier this week.
He's giving them a tight deadline of two weeks to find ways to save -- without layoffs or reducing services.
