Weekend gun violence spilled into the workweek Monday when four men were shot in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn.
Fear is growing in neighborhoods across New York City as gun violence climbs.
CBS2 has learned that the total so far this year has surpassed the number of shootings in all of last year.
Officers were sent to a home on Vermont Street near Crosby Avenue just after 6:30 p.m. Sunday for a report of a male shot.
"They're failing at every possible measure to be leaders," Shea said.
In the latest numbers released by the NYPD, from July 6-12, the number of people shot across New York City went up 252%, compared to the same week last year.
