The New York Football Giants not only lost a football game in Philadelphia, they also lost two key contributor with season-ending injuries. On Tuesday, the team officially placed wide receiver Victor Cruz and cornerback Trumaine McBride on the injured reserve list.
Cruz had surgery to repair a torn patellar tendon in his right knee. McBride, who had been the nickel corner since Walter Thurmond was injured in Week 2, had surgery to repair a fractured thumb.
From here on, it has to be out of sight, out of mind. Immediate affairs preclude sentimentality over a much-loved comrade.
