Good Question: Why Does The U.S. Spy On Its Allies?

New details surfaced over the weekend about the United States spying on several world leaders, including tapping the personal cell phone of German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Now, new information about spying on people and political officials in France, Mexico and Spain has emerged as well. It's angered many in those countries. Some have even threatened continued cooperation with the U.S. "It's totally unacceptable. This undermines the trust and this can harm our friendship," said Guido Westerwelle, Germany's foreign minister.

Fire Damages Dinkytown Apartments, Coffee Shop

A fire ripped through a second-floor apartment above a popular coffee shop in Minneapolis' Dinkytown neighborhood Friday afternoon. The Minneapolis Fire Department says it started in an apartment above Espresso Royale on 411 14th Street Southeast, near the University of Minnesota's East Bank campus, sometime around 12:30 p.m. "I was lying in my bed when I saw smoke come out," said Phoebe Gulling, a University of Minnesota student. "I looked outside and saw fire coming out of the building."

Timeline Of Dome Demolition, Vikes Stadium Construction Revealed

Only five home games remain on the Vikings schedule this year. And unless the Vikes go to the playoff, that's how much time is left for the Metrodome. The Dome will be torn down to make way for the Vikings' new home. And it's a very tight timeline between now and 2016, when the Vikes move into their new stadium. Michele Kelm-Helgen, the head of the state commission overseeing new stadium construction, says people shouldn't expect a dramatic, dusty knockdown in Feb. of 2014.
