Cooler temps will start the week before sunshine bring temperatures back into the 80s.
Scattered showers or storms will usher in slightly cooler temperatures to start the week.
Sunny skies are expected for Saturday afternoon with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
Thursday will feature morning sunshine, then turn partly cloudy in the afternoon.
Some sunshine for the first half of Wednesday, then increasing clouds by the early afternoon.
Scattered showers and isolated storm chances return Tuesday afternoon.
Rainfall amounts over the next 7 days will range from a half inch to more than an inch for areas southwest of Chicago.
Far southern counties remain at the lowest risk to see storms tonight.
Aside from a stray shower it'll be rather uneventful tonight. The risk for severe weather has decreased for tomorrow.

According to CBS 2 Meteorologist Mary Kay Kleist, we'll track a lake-enhanced cold front on Friday. It crosses the area late morning, turning winds off the lake.
A front will push in some cooler air for Friday with highs in the low 80s, but staying in the 70s near the lake.
A gradual warm-up is on the way for the next two days before a cool front passes on Friday.
According to CBS 2 Meteorologist Mary Kay Kleist, we can expect light winds, passing fair weather clouds, comfortable humidity levels, and a lake breeze each afternoon through midweek.
Sunday night will be comfortable with clear skies.
We'll keep this weather through the workweek with a slight chance of storms on Thursday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for multiple counties in the Chicago area.

There's a higher threat for severe weather from LaPorte County and places east into Michigan.
The first storm chance arrives at daybreak, with gusty morning storms possible, maybe sometime between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m.
