The Sixers entered the NBA Draft with a league leading seven picks and the team walked away with seven new players. Not all of the newest Sixers will be on next season's roster, nor will they all play in the first game. However, the team amassed a haul of new pieces and some future draft picks that have to have Sam Hinkie and Brett Brown happy.
Coming into tonight's NBA Draft, things were split among experts and fans on what the Sixers would, and should do with their draft picks. The team wound up not trading up to the top spot in the draft, all but ending their pursuit of Andrew Wiggins. The team did not walk away with a player that would be ready to go on day one. Instead they selected Joel Embiid.
Embiid underwent surgery on his right foot last week to repair a stress fracture in his right foot, inserting two screws into the navicular bone and is expected to be out four to six months.
