The entire ordeal was caught on camera, showing the pawn shop employee standing idly on the sidewalk when a hooded stranger pulls him to the ground, and with an accomplice tries to pry the bag off his shoulders.
The suspect has been identified as 31-year-old Pablo Powell. He is being charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
With a hoard of police officers watching, he climbed a tree and hopped onto the roof of the school before breaking into the building to hide from authorities.
