Within three hours after the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension released a missing endangered person alert for a Forest Lake teen, she announced on her Facebook page that she's safe and has talked with her parents. According to Chisago County Sheriff's office, 18-year-old Jade Alexandra Kelm was last seen early Sunday morning at Sunrise Estates Trailer Court in Stacy in the company of her boyfriend, 19-year-old Ryley Thomas Olson of North Branch. On Monday afternoon, Kelm announced "I'm fine and I contacted my parents."
Family members and volunteers are searching again in the southern Twin Cities suburbs for a University of Minnesota student who's been missing since the night her ex-boyfriend killed another man outside a Burnsville bar. Anna Rae Schunk reconnected with Shavelle Chavez-Nelson, 31, in hopes of recovering a $5,000 loan he never repaid, but it may have been a fatal mistake for the 20-year-old. Schunk's brother says police told their family they found his sister's white jacket with a U of M logo, covered with blood and 18 to 20 holes that may indicate she was stabbed.
Family members of 20-year-old Anarae Schunk are combing an area near the Mississippi River for her body, according to the Facebook page created for her search effort. People are searching for the missing University of Minnesota student near Pickerel Lake in Lilydale, as well as areas in the vicinity of Highway 46 near Rosemount and Farmington. Burnsville Police told Schunk's family Saturday that they are certain she's dead. They have not yet disclosed what evidence points to that conclusion.
