As we learn more about the Michigan State University shooting, CBS News Detroit is diving deeper into what leads to shootings and how communities cope.
The university selected Ohio-based Security Risk Management Consultants to lead the external investigation.
The shooting took place at an Old National Bank branch in Louisville. Police said the gunman, 25, worked at the bank.

According to an update on Tuesday from MSU police, the student was in critical condition but was stable when they were discharged.
"We strongly believe there was going to be some other targets, including maybe family members, and one of the malls here in Nashville," said Nashville Police Chief John Drake.
The shooter has been identified as a 28-year-old from Nashville, authorities said.
Three 9-year-old students and three staffers were killed in the rampage at The Covenant School, a private Christian grade school. Police say they shot and killed the shooter.
