Since the Highland Park July 4th parade massacre, momentum has been building, and membership has been soaring, for grassroots organizations like Moms Demand Action. CBS 2's Charlie De Mar reports.
Members started off with a moment of silence to honor the seven victims who were killed.
It was an emotional evening in Highland Park Monday night as the City County held its first in-person meeting since the July 4th parade massacre.
"The family continues to be very grateful for and humbled by the outpouring of support and well wishes."

The proposal comes after the Highland Park parade shooter was deemed a Clear and Present Danger by local police, but Illinois State Police said there was not enough evidence for the designation and the shooter went on to get FOID anyway. CBS 2's Chris Tye reports.
