Hundreds of people are marching on Capitol Hill to demand new efforts to stop gun violence, among them mothers still reeling from last week's deadly mass shooting in Highland Park.
Community members will come together nine days after tragedy struck Highland Park.
Multiple people have called Norton's, 1905 Sheridan Rd., the "Cheers" of Highland Park.
"There is no reason a citizen needs to be walking the streets with a weapon of war," said Emily Lieberman.
"he is facing an urgent, complex, and lengthy surgery today to again attempt to repair his torn esophagus," a family spokesman said.
The U.S. Census shows in 2020, Highland Park's population was more than 30,000. More than 3,300 were Hispanics.

The Highland Park Community Foundation has established a fund to help those affected by the of the July 4th parade massacre. Foundation Executive Committee Chair Betsy Brint joins CBS 2's Joe Donlon and Irika Sargent in Highland Park.
All contributions to the fund will go directly to victims, survivors, and organization who support them.
