A suspect went on a spree of armed robbery, sexual assault, and kidnapping on Chicago's South Loop before dying in a car crash early Friday morning.
It happened just before midnight at Gracie O'Malley's in the 4000 block of North Milwaukee Avenue.
Police say in each incident, an armed man would approach the victim who was walking on the sidewalk, display a handgun, and demand their belongings before fleeing the scene on foot.
In each incident, the victims have agreed to buy a cellphone on Facebook Marketplace – only to be robbed at gunpoint when they arrive at the location to which they're directed.
In each of the attacks, a group of two to four men approached the victims while they were sitting in or standing near their cars, flashed handguns, and demanded their cars and belongings.
All the robberies happened in the 2200 block of Foster Street, near Hartney Avenue on Evanston's West Side.
The robbers broke glass displays and got away with thousands of dollars in merchandise.
The owner is now afraid for her safety and her business. CBS 2's Marybel Gonzalez reports.
Traveon Daniel, 21, was arrested in the 100 block of West 62nd Street around 3:35 p.m.
The victims suffered minor injuries and were taken to Swedish Hospital for treatment.
