Two 24-year-old northern New Jersey residents were facing attempted murder charges Sunday, in connection with the shooting of a man in Paterson last month.
Law enforcement officials have been focusing on removing what are known as 'community guns' from the streets. Those weapons are often hidden in broken down cars, lamp posts or wooded areas in a park where kids could find them, according to authorities.
A Paterson couple escaped their burning home by jumping from their roof onto a neighbor's roof, and climbing through that neighbor's bedroom window, witnesses said.
Five people were injured early Sunday when a fight broke out during a teenager's birthday party in New Jersey.
"Teams have been sitting back in that Cover 2," Cruz said, "so we've just got to take our time and find different ways to beat the opposition."
"They weren't saying much," Cruz said. "I mean (in) the first couple of drives we were chatting a little bit, but after I scored one and we kept them out of the end zone pretty much the whole game they didn't have much to say in that second half."

"I just feel like, what we worried about and what we thought about -- what we didn't want to happen -- actually happened," Cruz said. "Now it's up to the NFL to really look into this and see how far they want to go with these refs."
