It comes comes as the United Nations accuses Israel of committing genocide. The Hamas-controlled Ministry of Health reports nearly 65,000 people have been killed in Gaza since the Oct. 7, 2023 attacks. CBS News New York's Lisa Rozner reports.
The latest development comes as a United Nations panel levels new allegations of genocide claims, which Israel strongly denies.
The president says he's unhappy with the way the attack on Hamas leaders occurred, while also calling it an "unfortunate incident that could serve as an opportunity for peace."
U.S. ally Qatar condemns Israel for strikes targeting Hamas leaders in its capital city Doha, calling them "a blatant violation of all international laws and norms."
The White House said it was warned before the attack, and described it as "very unfortunate." CBS News New York's Lisa Rozner reports.
