Police said the Fort Lauderdale Traffic Homicide Unit was at the scene due to the seriousness of the injury.

The incident began in Hallandale Beach at around 4:45 p.m. Thursday when officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the Golden Isles Safe Neighborhood District.
