Man cooperating after allegedly shooting another man in Fort Lauderdale, police say

Fort Lauderdale Police are investigating after a shooting sent a victim to the hospital early Saturday morning.

The department said it happened just after 8 a.m. along the 2300 block of Northwest 9th Court. Officers said they found an adult male who had been shot, starting life-saving measures until Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue arrived and took him to a hospital. The victim's injuries were described as life-threatening.

Police said the alleged shooter, also an adult male, stayed on the scene and was detained by officers. The department noted he was cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
