A video posted by the Michigan nonprofit Animal Magic showcased an alligator the agency rescued from a Detroit woman's home. The gator had belonged to the woman's son, but he died recently, and the reptile was still at the home.
The reptile has since been taken to the Great Lakes Serpentarium in Westland.
Visitors to parks and outdoor areas are also urged not to approach wild animals, regardless of size.
