We expect this clearing to continue tonight, allowing temperatures to drop.
According to CBS 2 Chief Meteorologist Albert Ramon, lows will be in the upper 20s and low 30s in the alert area, but mid to upper 30s in Cook County.
Lows in areas away from the city are expected to fall into the upper 20s tonight.
This week overall will have a much cooler feel with below average temperatures.
Expect plenty of sunshine midweek.
For the risk of severe storms in the late afternoon, mainly south of Chicago and all of NW Indiana into Michigan.
