The university has admitted they are looking into new allegations laid out in a new lawsuit filed Monday – the first in what lawyers say will be followed by dozens more against the school. CBS 2's Chris Tye reports.
"This shows that it isn't just men," said Parker Stinar, one of her attorneys. "It isn't just football players."
"No teammate I knew liked hazing. We were all victims, no matter what our role was at the time, but the culture was so strong that we felt we had to go with it to survive," former Northwestern quarterback Lloyd Yates said.
"It's a tainted athletic department," attorney Parker Stinar said.
Lawyers for the plaintiffs estimate tens of thousands of people could qualify for potential refunds, totaling hundreds of millions of dollars.
This ends a two-year battle for Ferguson, who stepped away from his popular show on The Mix 101.9, WTMX-FM, in October 2021.
"What happened to me was totally unnecessary. Never in a million years would I have imagined being brutally attacked, beaten, and being arrested," Carlishia Hood said.
